Brett Petersen is the instructor in ARTEC RPTCS newest program in Auto Body at Dietrich High School. Mr. Peterson has been in the auto industry most of his life. After graduating college, he opened an Auto mechanics shop, where he did all types of automobile work including alignments, engine/transmission repair, and full auto tune-ups. During that time, Mr. Peterson built race cars and raced throughout the West in regional drag racing. After selling the shop, Mr. Peterson moved to Hailey and purchased HAB body shop, that he owned for 9 years. That ownership involved body and fender, paint, and frame damage work; not to mention office duties like estimating, ordering parts, and dealing with insurance bids. After retiring from business ownership Mr. Peterson has been restoring older vehicles for the past 20 years and decided to get into teaching, so that students can achieve experience in this field to heighten their chances of employment after high school. During the 2015-2016 school year, the students restored a 1948 Ford pickup and a 1951 Chevy pickup.
